It’s raining… really really hard
Often, one knows it’s raining really really hard because one hears it tapping (or throwing itself in wavelike gushes) on the roof and windows. I know it’s raining really really hard because I had breakfast with my mother at this little veggie restaurant (which also has something to do with an Eastern religion, but I’m not so clear on that so I’m going to just let it go). It was looking like it might get a little drizzly, so we brought an umbrella. There was a 20-25 minute wait so we decided to brave eating outside, got the manager to set up an umbrella for us among a few other brave souls out there. It was wet and a little miserable, but fine. We ordered and sat awaiting our food when the thunder started. The short version is that we wound up eating at a makeshift table in the office of the restaurant whilst rain in amounts indicating imminent flash flooding poured down. We had to walk thru the kitchen and employees kept excusing themselves to get ingredients for other people’s meals. For the record: Victory’s Banner has a very clean kitchen and storage area. My omelet was excellent as well.
Did I mention we had to walk nearly a mile home?
