Boredom
I’m at work again, and per usual there’s just not really very much work for me to do. I’ve finally managed to bring in set of headphones so that I can listen to CDs at work - otherwise I have to listen to the competing radios of the guy next to me and the guy behind me. It drives me bonkers. I really can’t concentrate at all with two different pieces of music playing. It’s worse because one of them is country music, but mostly I can just hear the bassline thumping behind my head. It’s really interrupting my hearts game.
I saw this chick at a party last night that I’ve known since kindergarten and not seen since high school. Rumors of her imminent demise due to a combination of drugs and sex led me to believe that I’d never see her again. At the end of high school, she and her sister became very much too cool for school (her sister took this literally and dropped out). But what really amuses me is that I totally have pictures of this chick from kindergarten wearing a pink frilly dress and was there in 7th grade when she had horrible glasses and a really short haircut and our math teacher referred to her as a “he” in front of the whole class. Point being, we all have our ridiculous moments. Hopefully at some point she will also look back on last night and the fake, pseudo-sultry voice she was using and include that in the catalog. The time she and her sister bit this other chick in tandem and drew blood might also get a passing reference. This reads a little bitter, but I completely don’t bear her any ill will, I’m just amused.
Tonight I go Tequila Roadhouse for an hour of free drinking (well done Jenny Godar). This establishment embodies class the way only a place called Tequila Roadhouse could. Don’t be intimidated that it’s been featured on Elimidate.
