The Chicago Tribune has been running a myriad of stories about Reagan’s death. I’m not going to get into whether I’m sad he’s dead because, frankly, I didn’t know the guy that well (and I’ll just throw the words “Central America” out there for good measure.) But what I do find a little creepy is the number of articles the Trib turned out in so little time. They must have had at least some of them written beforehand; I just hope I’m never famous enough that people are writing about my death (even if they’re wishing it) before it actually happens. I just find it unsettling that his life (i.e. ability to impact anything around him) was over, so the media was just waiting for him to die so they could publish these articles taking up diskspace.
I need to start looking for plane tickets. I think I’m going to try to make it over to Europe in time to grab a bar job in Greece for the Olympics. Should be a good time and lucrative if I can make it work. I’m just so damn lazy when I’m in Chicago. I need like a professional trainer for stuff I want to do; someone to be like “Hey! You have enough money, go buy a fucking plane ticket to France.” It’d probably be an unpaid position though. I don’t have that much money.
