Cubbie bears
Leaving work early today (like most other days this week as well) to go to watch the Cubs. I’ve not been to a game in over 10 years; I’ve not even set foot in the park since ‘99 when I took my friend Adi on a ‘Ferris Bueller’ tour of Chicago. To anyone not from the northside of Chgo, I think it’s hard to understand how thrilling Cubs games are. I don’t like baseball, but I love the Cubs. The park is just stunning- oh I don’t know, it’s a bit irrational. Not to mention that it’s damn near impossible to get tickets this year; I had to sell my eggs (not really, but people are paying like 15,000 for one not-that-great season ticket). I anticipate a win for the Cubbies and a sunburn and a hangover for me.
Queer Eye has started it’s second season (but third set of episodes, what’s up with that?), and it’s beginning to bore me. I think part of it is that I watch it over at my friend’s house. Between all of us (family and friends) talking nearly constantly and her dog deciding to chew on random parts of my body it’s a little bit of a task to pay attention. But, aside from their funny quips, I think it’s a little played.
Right, must go get burned and drunk now. I mean, watch baseball.
