Back in the swing of things
Apparently I’ve been trying to get my old lifestyle back the past few days: out til 1 or later, drinking every night, etc. It’s day three, and I’m feeling a bit rough. By the end of this weekend, I should be good though. It’s good practice for the next two months.
Hopefully, Jess’ uncle can get me a job with Planned Parenthood when I get back. I’m not totally thrilled that they’re a corporation, but they’ve also got the most clout and opportunity for advancement, which I can then use in the non-profit sector later.
I actually cooked last night, and was feeling pretty good about the three course meal I prepared. I remembered to start the tofu squishing while I was working on the apps, and preheating the oven for the baking. Usually I’m not that good at thinking ahead with cooking. Usually it’s more like, “Oh shit, I don’t have any scallions. Well, ground beef will probably work just as well.” But for the record, I am not a fan of low-fat coconut milk. If you’re eating curry, you just have to go whole hog.
Ooh, if I leave early today, I can take a nap before going out tonight. Tonight being another fun filled evening of free drinking at Tequila Roadhouse. It’s such a crappy bar, but I go there more than almost anywhere else just because we all keep winning these free parties. I’ve never bought a drink there.
I was re-reading my journal from Cuba last night. It’s so funny the things you’ve forgotten, or the things that didn’t seem amusing at the time that are now just hilarious. Or maybe I’m just super duper funny. To myself.
