Whoo hoo!
I was just reading Chris’ journal when I realized that he and Scott (whoops, I just wrote Scoot there) are coming to town on Friday. Nice one. Oh and Chris, if I don’t talk to you before then, it’s all good at Jess’.
My life has been more or less plodding since I last wrote. I got new groups of kids AGAIN, but hopefully these will be my groups for the rest of the year. I’m not really holding my breath on that one. The kids are cute, but I’ve got one little bastard that was intentionally telling another kid the wrong answers to the test we had to take yesterday. And I had three little boys comparing the lengths of their pencils. A little girl was kind of looking at them and laughing, and I said, “It starts young, huh?” She had no idea what I was talking about, but she chuckled along with me. My 1st grade experience yesterday also heard me saying, “I swear to god the next person that hits someone is sitting down for the rest of the day.” And then I turned around and heard two of them hit the ground before I could even do anything. They’re conniving as well. “Ooh, I like your necklace.” Then the next one, “Ooh, I like your earrings.” “I like your sweater!” “You’re really nice. We wish you were our regular teacher.” And then right back to attacking each other like little animals.
My 2nd graders are okay, but I miss my first group. And even though I explained that I wasn’t their teacher anymore, they keep trying to line up after me like little ducklings. It’s too cute. But I should probably shower and make up some kind of lesson plan so that I’m not leaving any children behind today. I better have more than 7 today - they’re worth 11 bucks a head to me.
