I’ve realized that I begin most of my entries with, “So,” but I’ve alternately noticed that I pretty much use this journal to tell stories and also, I write like a talk, so…
So, in the grand tradition of things I shouldn’t be talking about on the internet - tomorrow is officially the day I hand in my notice. I’ve never really done that before. I’ve either been leaving for college or leaving from college or asked for a week off, gotten my last pay check, and then left the keys on the register along with a funny and derisive note, but I’ve never actually been like, “I kind of hate working here, and two weeks from now, I’m not going to be doing it anymore.” Not really sure how the next two weeks proceed. Am I left about my business? Will I be continually begged to stay? Will it be just really, really awkward? And how do I give the letter to my boss? Drop it on his desk and skedaddle or present it with a flourish and say, “Ta da!” All important questions…
I mopped my floor today and learned that, as with cleaning the bathtub, it is something that should really be done more than every four and a half months.
