Yay! or I’m an Idiot
I figured out my comments problem! Last week, despite swearing up and down that I’d not changed anything, I changed my options on our host to display the site as “standsalone.org” instead of “www.standsalone.org.” Since the options there said it would redirect everything appropriately, I didn’t think twice about it, but apparently the blog was not as impressed. A quick change in the wordpress options menu fixed everything.
I guess the hours I spent messing with the php and reinstalling and thinking about putting my fist through the computer were, as usual, just a result of my own inattention to detail. I’m pretty good on the big picture stuff. Now I’ve just got to change some things about the look and we’re good to go. Some of the pictures look a bit crap because I reduced the quality so they would load faster. I’m rethinking the wisdom of that.
This is FASCINATING. I promise I will have something (possibly) worth reading later today about why I keep going to see crappy plays.
