Misadventures in Stalking
Sometimes things don’t go as planned.
I was checking myspace for the girl I’m staying with when I get to Melbourne. Somehow during this process I decided to check for some friends from grade school and ex-boyfriends. Online stalking people you used to know is a proud tradition dating back to the inception of Friendster (circa 1820s). Profile views can provide wistful memories of friends long gone or helpful memories of men long obnoxious.
As I said though - sometimes things don’t go as planned.
A name search for the most useless of my ex-boyfriends yielded nothing, so I decided to try the email he used when we dated. Only, I forgot to press the ‘back’ button. So, instead of searching for his email, I sent him an invite to myspace. It’s no “Stop Blogging About Me,” but it’s pretty awesome nonetheless.
Here is a baby panda to help in case you’re cringing:

And here is a fact to make you re-cringe:
Current Temp (Chicago, IL): 2 F, -17F with windchill
Current Temp (Melbourne, AU): high today of 69F

Thanks for the shout-out. It’s sweet of you to indulge my attention-whore-ish tendencies.
PS: The “I’m done, post it.” button is priceless. Love.

I find the panda really soothing and keep returning to look at it. My mom used to have a 3D cake pan that made really good cakes that looked just like that. The soothing is more tactile enjoyment rather than gooey goodness though.
