Why else would I say, out loud, “Oh hey, Mary Douglas!” when she turned up in the article I was reading about Moral Panic Theory. Every time these sociologist wanna-bes reference an anthropologist, I quietly think, “Damn straight.”
Or, I just loudly greet the names of passing anthropologists to pieces of paper.
There is some serious miscommunication between my brain and mouth (and this is just the latest example). Or it could be the three cups of tea and two coffees I’ve had today. I’m going cold turkey on caffeine after these papers are in - I start thinking about soy lattes too early in the day anymore.
