TV Night Redux
I watch virtually no TV in Melbourne. I watch The Chaser’s War on Everything on Wednesday nights, and that’s literally it. Last Saturday I made the mistake of looking at the TV listing and found that there were all these good movies on - okay, except for The Island. So that’s what I did last Saturday night.
Tonight, Back to the Future II, Batman Begins, and The Motorcycle Diaries are all on. In America, we put the shitty movies on Saturday night! I am so not going out.
Speaking of reasons I’m not going out tonight, Excedrin is a wonderful thing. It’s the kind of medicine that can turn the 11am misery of last night’s $300 in trivia winnings behind the bar to a 1pm cider with your enormous steak sandwich.
Cider isn’t really hair of the dog so much as soft downy coat of the newborn puppy.
God, the steak sandwich sitting in the bottom of my belly makes me more of an idiot than usual.
Finally - just so it isn’t lost to history or my hamsterish short term memory, here is an excerpt from conversation Sam and I had this morning:
Sam: I think 2007 should be the Year of the Pedophile.
Me: What?
[Pause]
Sam: Well, not in a celebratory way.
Love this girl.
