End Radio Silence
My flight was an hour late getting in, so it’s now 1am. Quickly…
Best thing about the trip: Hugging a baby wombat. Specifically, I snuggled a Western hairy-nosed named Pocket Rocket - I didn’t tell her parents what that meant in the US.
Worst thing about the trip: Seeing Maxine McKew in Sydney today and having an inexplicable and never-before-seen bout of shyness. I missed the opportunity to shake the hand of the woman who handed John Howard his ass! What was I thinking?
While we’re on that note, last Saturday night was pretty great, too. A campervan at Uluru isn’t where I intended to spend the election, but the result made it all worth it.
For those of you not following Oz politics - the Australian people pretty much told the Right not to let the door hit them on the way out. This included John Howard, who became only the second Prime Minister to lose power as well as his own seat. I love these people.
