That's the essence of the intervention" - Tony Abbot. Interesting that the intervention involved scrapping the CDEP program and now he's suggesting it is part of the solution! The opposition (and I'm sure some of media) are still talking about it in terms of "fixing" Indigenous communities rather than looking at the failure of white Australia's welfare and justice systems that, as you point out, sent the girls back against the requests of their parents!
