ITT Tech’s History
ITT Tech was founded in 1946 as a technical institute. In 1972, they started offering associate’s degrees, and in 1985, they started offering bachelor’s degrees. So, yes, ITT Tech does offer bachelor’s degrees. However, they are not accredited by the US Department of Education, which means that their degrees may not be recognized by some employers.

ITT Tech was founded in 1946, when entrepreneur and electrical engineer Herman Pritzker purchased Institute of Technology, a school specializing in electronics instruction located in Newark, New Jersey. He renamed the school ITT Technical Institute and relocated it to Binghamton, New York. The school awarded its first Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology in 1949. In 1972, the school expanded its programs, adding computer science and business administration courses. ITT Tech later expanded to include over 100 locations across 38 states. The school offers Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees in a variety of disciplines, including business administration, computer science, criminal justice, and electrical engineering.
ITT Tech’s decline
From its peak in 2011, ITT Tech’s enrollment declined rapidly amid increasing investigations and criticism of the for-profit college’s business practices. In 2016, the company announced it would close all of its campuses, leaving over 40,000 students without an educational institution.
